FINAL EVALUATION

When I look at my blog I can see an improvement. Other might don't see it. I haven't learned anything new about verbs or grammar or whatever: I've learned about poetry. Reading Hamlet and doing different activities about it made me learn to find the nicest way to say things. I learned that you can even make a bad thing sound beautiful. I'm still not really good at it but I think in some posts you can see that I tried to use a littlebit more poetic words. And also I learned so much vocabulary. In my opinion the main improvement which you can see on my blog is my vocabulary.
I think one of the posts which best shows my english level (apart from the oral presentation) are the last ones I did about Shakespeare.
In my opinion it's not really usefull (in my case) to do writings about whatever you want because you can write about something with an easy vocabulary and structure, and if you do something wrong most of the times you don't even know it because the teachers can't correct it once you posted it.
The writings which were usefull are the news and the reviews I think, because somehow they limitate what you can write about.
Finally, I have to say that the activities which I enjoyed the most were the ones about the book review (it was my highlight of the year). They were the ones which were a bit difficult but also the ones I found most interesting.

Have a nice summer Lourdes! ;)

MIAMI "ZOMBIE" ATTACK

Some days ago the police of Miami found a naked man who was eating the face of a homeless man. He did it because he had consumed bath salts.
I think it's just INCREDIBLE. It's like the beginning of a zombie apocalypse or something we all are afraid of and the most weird thing is that it's because of drugs. The first thing I asked myself when I saw it was: how can a human person have the idea to eat bath salts?. And the second was: why do the people who fabricate bath salts don't think about it? I mean, they should have known that there are toxic things inside it and that they cannot just sell it like this.
The world is insane and people don't even try to stop this.

This is the site where you can watch the video they made and read about what happened:

HAMLET REVIEW

The book I decided to read this term was Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Like most of his plays it's a tragedy.
I couldn't finish the book yet because it is quite difficult to understand it without reading a lot of times every word but I wanna write about what I read until this moment.
It's about the court on Denmark. Some soldiers see a ghost walking down the streets every night at midnight. This ghost is looking like a king and in fact, the king of Denmark died one month ago under mysterious circumstances. Hamlet, the son of the dead king, is really sad because his mother has already married his oncle. He thinks that someone murdered his father. When he decides to speak to the ghost, it tells him that it's the dead king and that Hamlet has to revenge his death because his own brother (the actual king of Denmark) murdered him to become the king. Hamlet decides to ensure this charge making a plan. Some actors are performing a play which is about a similar story the next evening, and he decides to change a little bit the script. While the actors perform the play, there is a scene which shows the brother of a king murdering a king. At this moment the king of Denmark jumps up and gets really angry, so everybody knows that what the play showed was true. Now Hamlet has got the affirmation he was looking for to revenge his father's death but he is also in really big problems because they want to kill him.

THE EFFIGY OF POETRY

William Shakespeare was the most famous british writer who ever existed. He was a dramatist, poet and actor. Nobody really knows when he was born but he was baptized in Stratford-upon-Avon at 26th of April 1564. He died in 1616, but we don't know the cause neither. His dramas and comedies are the most important plays which have been played and filmed of world literature.
He wrote  38 dramas and 154 sonnets.
We don't really know much about his life but everybody who has read one of his plays knows that he was a genius. Not only because he had the talent to find beautiful words for bad things: he had the gift to play with words and give every single one of them a special meaning.
Some people think that some of his plays were not written by himself because of the fact that they are too brillant to be written by one single person. In fact, he was able to use the poorest languaje from the alleys and the highest one from the court at the same time. His vocabulary embraces over 17.750 different words.
His most famous play is Romeo and Juliet which is the most popular drama in history. But he wrote a lot more. Some people say that Hamlet was his masterpiece, but this is something which I am going to write about in the next post.

THE ART ON YOUR SKIN

To tattoo someone means to change the pigments of the skin by inserting ink into a wound (nowadays made by a tatoo-machine).
The first tattoo's were made by the first humans in the neolithic time. Since then all different types of humans did it but specally in the last century the tattoo's had a lot of success. Nowadays nearly everyone does have a tattoo because it's modern.
In my opinion people often get a tattoo without really thinking about it before. I think that making tattoo's is a kind of art and not only something related to fashion. This summer I will get some tattoo's but I've been thinking lots of years about it so I'm really sure that I won't regret.
Those people who just tattoo something on their skin ignoring the fact that it hurts and that it will be there forever look a little stupid to me. I think a tattoo can be something really beautiful but it's like everything else: an excess of it can have objectionable consequences.

Düsseldorf

I’ve never been there in summer but I suppose I would feel the same way. Everything there makes me feel like I arrived at home. It is amazing how such a big place can make you feel so comfortable. All these tiny and old streets which guide you somewhere you didn’t know, the freshness of the air (if you aren’t in the center of the city), all these sounds you can hear.
But you can’t imagine how it is at Christmas time. The streets are full of little stalls which sell Christmas presents, bakery and hot wine. People are so kind and it seems like you can smell it in the air. In the morning the air is fresh and it smells like nature, plants and water, but in the evening the streets smell like Christmas bakery and the smoke of the fireplaces. And while I’m sitting in front of my fireplace, looking out the window how the snow hits the ground, I can’t imagine a place on earth that’s more beautiful (except my real home).
